Dulcie Gray (1915-2011) b. Malaysia.

Born in Kuala Lumpur, Dulcie Gray moved to England at the age of three and went to school at Wallingford, Wokingham and Swanage, before working as a school teacher and as a journalist in Kuala Lumpur, before returning to England. She studied at the Webber Douglas drama school in London, where she met future husband Michael Denison.

While Denison served in the war, she played in repertory and earned a film contract with Gainsborough Pictures. She went on to become a leading actress in British films during the 1940s as a Gainborough star, appearing in such films as A Place of One�s Own (1945), Madonna of the Seven Moons (1944) and Mine Own Executioner (1947). Later she appeared alongside her husband Michael Denison in My Brother Jonathan (1948), The Glass Mountain (1949), The Franchise Affair (1950), There Was a Young Lady (1953) and Angels One Five (1952). Her film career was relatively short as before long she switched to performing chiefly on the stage. In later life Dulcie Gray enjoyed success on television, in particular the long-running BBC nautical saga Howards� Way.
