Sidney Cole started out as an editor in the 1930′s, occasionally at Ealing (pre-Balcon). Worked with Thorold Dickinson on Spanish Civil War films, then as editor on his Gaslight (1940) and on Pimpernel Smith (1941). At Ealing, 1942-52, as supervising editor, producer, and briefly director; Train of Events (1949). Then TV and film production; The Kitchen (1961). Active in technicians’ union (ACT, subsequently ACTT).
