Tales of Manhattan maybe?
A colleague ran this one past me but I'm afraid it means nothing to me.
It's an old film, B&W she thinks. The plot is about a man who buys a second hand coat. When he gets to wear it, he puts his hand in the pocket and finds a coin, which he takes out. When he puts his hand in again he finds another coin - and so on. Apparently this new found wealth creates problems for him, so he gets rid of the coat and gets another - but the same thing happens again. Sorry its a bit vague, not sure if it's a British film, could be American I guess.
Tales of Manhattan maybe?
Many thanks for that super fast suggestion.
I'll contact my colleague and let you know asap.
Best wishes,
Pete
rings a bell hmm
Could be the TV episode A Priceless Pocket from 1953.
it was 1 notes if I remember correctly!
Hi folks,
Many thanks for everyone's contributions.
Having heard back from my colleague, she doesn't think it's Tales of Manhattan.
But, on the description I found for A Priceless Pocket, that seems - to me, anyway - much closer (apart from it being a note instead of a coin) so, again, I'll be back in touch as soon as I've run that past her.
Thanks once again,
Pete
Thanks folks, and in particular to Purukivel, my colleage is pretty certain it's A Priceless Pocket.
