I've just bought this new Pegasus DVD release and the picture looks like a standards-converted VHS copy of a VHS copy! The bottom of the screen is blanked off for the first few minutes - no doubt to remove the "videobeat.com" wording that this poor copy probably originated from. I have several more Pegasus DVD's on order - including the already-reported poor quality Edgar Wallace / Saber Of The Yard set which has just been despatched by Amazon. I'm not risking any more of my money so I'm cancelling the remaining Pegasus DVD orders. NOT HAPPY!

Might not be originating from videobeat.com as I have always found their releases to be excellent quality. Still, it is disappointing news if the Pegasus releases are poor quality.

You've been luckier than me then - the two videobeat titles I have (Work is A Four Letter Word and Ferry Cross The Mersey) are pretty hard to watch and are definitely vhs copies of vhs copies that have been poorly converted from PAL to NTSC.

That's useful to know crunchie - I've tended to go for things like the compilation shows, not the films.

If Pegasus carry on like this they will go bust and serve them right for selling shoddy DVD copies and profiteering from it.

None of these releases appear to have had an official BBFC submission.

I have a few Pegasus titles and all of them, apart from The Holcroft Covenant, are OK.
