There's quite a few with hereditary titles - think there's a thread about this somewhere. John Standing, Bruce Seton and Jeremy Child come to mind while Christopher Guest (OK, he's a Yank) and Timothy Bentinck are hereditary peers.

    How do you define class?

Oliver Reed was descended from Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree - founder of RADA

He played posh but he was a lower-middle class boy from Clapham.

    Wellendcanons.
Don't forget that these people are actors

The image they portray might not be representative of their real background.

Terry-Thomas was born in Finchley, north London and worked as a clerk in a cold storage depot until he took up acting. He played the role of terry-Thomas off-stage as well as on.

Similarly, the greatest role that David Niven ever played was his performance as the character he created called David Niven

Yes, many actors who appeared posh were simply giving a performance. Peter Sellers wanted to be posh/upper class, like his friends Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon. His favorite voice was his upper class impersonation which many took to be his real voice, you can watch his Parkinson appearance from the 70s for an example of it. And I would agree David Niven gave a great performance throughout his life, on and off screen, as a typical upper class Englishman.

I have always thought that acting was a middle class occupation at the top of the British Class scale, with most actors being born into it, prior to the Film Industry. Wasn't acting frowned upon by the Upper Classes ? and considered one of the three places of refuge for homosexuals (The Theatre, The Navy or The Clergy) ?

Where do you live? The 1900s?

The British class system is nowhere near as rigid as many Americans seem to think. It's no more rigid than the American class system
