Pretty sure it was on CH4 in 80s. Starts off in private boys school. Boy being bullied by prefect(s). One scene they make him get his hair cut even though it is short already. Another scene they catch him smoking in boot room. Later it moves foward in time to like when they are 20 something. Victim catches bully at something like tennis or cricket match. Seem to remember someone knocking him out.

Always haunted me, this one- as when I first saw it, I'd just left boarding school myself. I'd been a "scholarship" pupil at a snobby school in Hertfordshire in 1982 and suffered all the usual things that one would expect, then, after being kicked out for being working class, sent to another school for "problem" kids in Devon which I attended between 1983 1984, which was later shown to have been run illegally without the consent of the Department Of Educational Science. The scene where they all line up one by one and gob in Cox's rice pudding seemed very redolent of the type of stuff I'd endured, although I have yet to confront any of my former fellow pupils and attempt to kill them. Maybe one day (joke)....

    SPOILER ALERT!

From what I remember (here comes one of those 'spoiler' things): as Cox (Lesser) is about to exact his terrible revenge on Mount (Dominic Jephcott) on the sports field, they come up behind him and club him to death- which means that, ultimately, the class system won in the end. How very true to life, and therefore how very chilling. I had a "Mount" in my dormitory, called Nicholas Elmes- I wonder what he's up to now....

Sounds like you've got you own TV play there, Jack...shame they don't make them anymore.
