name='billy bentley']So it was Man Utd ? Who were the vctims again, I've forgotten ?
it was a lower league team,that's all i remember-fergies mind-games again!

name='jaycad']no,the bar provoked the man utd fans by not serving prawn sandwiches after 7pm,sir alex used a jedi mind-game to convince the authorities that it never happened!
Maybe he wanted more time.![]()

I`m in no way a Man. Utd. fan; but in their defence they did pay Barnsley FC 10,000 to pay for all damages; and also invited the refreshment bar staff for a tour of Old Trafford and match tickets to a recent European cup tie. I`m not sure if this was reported in the National press, but it did happen.

Fair enough Brigger, glad to hear it. I always thought it was funny that it happened at a Carling Cup match !
Two surprising bits of football news tonight ... Brian Laws is the new manager of Burnley and Reading beat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield in the FA Cup.
Well deserved win by Reading and all power to them. Liverpool were/are a total shambles.
Were I Benitez I'd consider resigning.
One of those magic nights at Anfield, Reading were the better team, congratulations to them.
If Rafa doesn't get the Big E now, then it must be true that Liverpool literally can't afford to sack him. Shankly must be turning in his grave ! What a night to remember for any Reading fans that made it Anfield. Good on yer !
name='jaycad']hardly the same thing i think?
as for chelsea not winning anything,i suppose the mighty man utd are going to clean up then?![]()
Why would someone with a name bluenose think Man Utd are going to win 'owt ?

Trouble at t'mill.
If it's true that Liverpool can't afford to sack Rafa because of compensation - then they are in worst schtuck than people believe.
They have sounded out people from Klinsman to Hidink it seems, but months and months ago.
Rafa has had to sell to buy, and I don't think he's bought yet with that dosh he's made.(Keane, Crouch, Alonso---this week Voronin and someone else)
Johnson came from Portsmouth in lieu of the money Pompey still owed for Crouch. So it's another mystery as to where that incoming money is going - to service their debt?
Man Utd are similar, Ferguson has allegedly something between 48-60 million unused from Ronaldo's sale. ( And just this week it appears that the Glazers have borrowed 10 million from the Old Trafford company.)
Yanks! The best business managers in the world or the best carpet-baggers ?
Arsenal have a budget of about 15 million a year, which is peanuts, when compared - but at least their fans know where the money is going - on the Emirates interest.
Chelsea, always likely to be bailed out by their sole owner, seem "stable". But they have stopped the big spend, as WAGES claw into their proffits.Man City is the real exception at the moment.
The world is changing and that more level playing field may be drawing closer.
But not because of any Platini daydream, but because of reality and economics.
Which may see Rafa staying in post and raiding the Spanish second division instead of the Championship.

i think that's self explanatory!![]()

agreed, but i find it funny how the media are blaming the defeat on the fact torres and gerrard had to go off injured hence liverpool being a two man team-liverpool were better once the sulking spreader of bad atmosphere was off the pitch, even though the goals were conceded in the second half the damage was already done as the tempo of the game was set by the non existant threat from midfield, the defeat was down to reading taking advantage of liverpools poor attacking play and dreadful defending this season.

The Keane money went towards servicing the debt as did half the Alonso money.
I'm sure this summer another player will have to be sold to meet the repayments.

if you're to believe tom hicks(ha!) this summers market is going to be a big one for liverpool-hopefully that means the sale of steven gerrard while we can still get money for him.

If they have to sell to keep afloat, it will be Torres.
Few clubs would go for Gerrard because;
1) His likely wage requirements
2) He's two years past his prime, and is increasingly injury prone and lacking fitness.
3) It's obvious that his heart belongs to Liverpool.....he is unlikely to have the motivation he still has, despite his increasing wear and tear, elsewhere.
As I said a few weeks ago; I'm a Leeds fan....I know what the beginning of a downward spiral looks like.
"the sulking spreader of bad atmosphere" - Who are you referring to jaycad?

personally,i think his motivation at liverpool is the problem and moving on may be a good thing for both parties. gerrard seems to believe that the rest of the team are there to make life easy for him,he's not willing to move for a ball and spits his dummy out of the pram when the ball is not placed directly at his feet,he insists on taking all of the set pieces even though his record with them is poor and is nowhere to be seen when a captains authority is needed with his teammates.
i don't believe the situation at liverpool is the same as what leeds went through, the root of leeds problems was a chairman who overspent-banking on continued progress, whereas liverpools owners just refuse to spend.xabi alonso was sold because he wanted to move, not because liverpool had to sell but the press seems insistant on stirring debt stories-put it this way,i'd be more worried about debt if i was a man utd fan!![]()
