    Larry Storch ?
Not Larry Storch. He appeared with Harvey Korman in a film about the very, very nervous.

This thread has been quiet for a week so I hope nbody minds!

This is a youthful photo of a stately lady who was a formidable presence in the late 30's and '40's. She was often the mother or aunt of some of the great ladies of the screen. She was even a Lady on a couple of occasions, and a dragon more than once.

If I had shown a later shot of her she would have been recognised immediately.

    Tallulah Bankhead ?

No, I don't recall her ever playing a mother or aunt, and Tallulah was many things, but I don't think that even her most devoted admirers would ever describe her as a Lady!!

No, much more acid tongued than kindly old Jane, who I don't recall ever being a dragon. She is very accurately described on Imbd as,

"One of Hollywood's most indomitable mothers of the 1930's and 1940's".

You're right, Ray. She certainly changed in looks over the years! to be given a wide berth!

I might have guess that you would get it Barbara.

    Well Done!!

Here she is using emotional blackmail on her newly widowed daughter in My Reputation, and even tough Barbara is intimidated!

    Hi, Hagler,

Yes, that is indeed "Beat" Takeshi!... actor, comedian, TV host, and filmmaker whose earlier Yakuza gangster films I've enjoyed. The French awarded him their Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

I know you know this info, given the earlier Japanese film you posted, but I'm adding it for those who are not familiar with Kitano and Asian film.

    Well done, and Carry On,

    Barbara

    Thanks Barbara!

Kitano is definitely one of Japan's most popular cultural icons, and one of my all-time screen favourites!

His artwork can be seen in many of his movies, and although I'm not really a big fan of that aspect of his career, I suppose you could call his pieces interesting... Kitano "Gosse de Peintre" Paris

    Here's the next one
