BBC to make a film on Ovett and Coe rivalry

BBC Sport - Seb Coe & Steve Ovett rivalry to be subject of BBC film

I was always an Ovett man, I found Coe creepy and then he becomes a Tory minister

I suppose, unlike Harold Abrahams and Eric Liddell, they did actually race against each other...just not very often...

Apart from them actually winning their gold medals there is very little fact in Chariots of Fire but why let that get in the way of the story.

I must admit that at the time, I was very much a Coe supporter, mostly because he seemed to be battling the handicap of being physically smaller than his rivals. With the passing of the years, and what we now know of them, I think that I would probably have got on far better with Ovett than Coe on a personal level. But I still think Coe was the better runner! I can't wait to watch it!
