Let me know if you're successful in finding in copy as I wouldn't mind getting this myself. Good luck!

No, I don't give up, it's very frustrating when I can't find something though.

I believe that Dame Vera made a couple of TV series in the early 70's, was wondering if anyone had any of these. Not to be cofused with the special she recorded in 1977 with George Shearing called "Vera Lynn Sings" which has been out on dvd for some time now.

I'd love to see them, come on BBC4, repeat them or give us a DVD! I posted recently about her South Bank Show, which I'm after a copy of.

If we go back to the 50s, Vera Lynn was on once a month with Eric Robinson the band leader (brother to Standford Robinson) along with the Television Toppers alternating with the Leslie Roberts Silhouettes and regular guest artisites such as semprini. The highlight of the programme was always when Eric handed over the baton to Vera and let her conduct the orchestra. I wonjder if the BBC actually have any episodes from those far off days? The programme was actually called Vera Lynn Sings.

There is a cd coming out on 15th March entitled, I think, "Songs from The Vera Lynn Show". Check it out at Amazon.co.uk. Priced at 6.99. These tracks are from some of these shows from the late fifties.

Thanks. Looking at the SkyArts website, it seems to be a short season. Shame ITV won't/can't repeat 'em.

Possibly all the clips make repeating them difficult... or maybe not?
