The lovely Dawn was born in Suffolk and christened....Victoria Dawn Addams.

Her film career began in 1951 and in 1957 she played lead opposite Charlie

Chaplin in his final comedy film..... "A King in New York...."

During the 1960s and 1970s she appeared mainly in British TV shows and French movies.

She appeared in many episodes of .. The Saint.... there was a certain chemistry

    between Dawn and Simon Templar......

Among her last film credits were two British horror films,

    "The Vampire Lovers "and

"The Vault of Horror", and she was also a regular in the British sitcom" Father Dear Father."

There was also the campy sci-fi serial "Star Maidens" (1977)... fast becoming

    cult TV ......

Dawn retired in the early 1980s, dividing her remaining years between Europe and the United States.

She died in 1985, aged 54, reportedly from cancer.

I typed in the post, then highlighted and hit the blue colour...

somehow that must have inhibited the image shack server in some way.

I just reposted and made sure I highlighted only the words... not the code...

and the pics came up .... like magic !

Just realized, Dawn was christenned.... Victoria Addams...

take away the extra d .... and its "Victoria Adams.".... Posh spice's maiden name !

As Micheal Caine might say.... "Not many people know that ! "

Dawn Addams was a very good actress who was taken from us much too soon. She is most fondly remembered by me for her appearences in "The Saint" with Roger Moore. The chemistry between the two was fantastic.

Pics from... A King in New York.....

the 1957 movie was Charlie Chaplin's last comedy film.

Must have been a great break for Dawn at the time.

Can anyone recall a TV programme she was in, probably early 80's, all I can recall is the scene where in a Pub with a companion she said "I'll have a pint of wallop".

I think I've only seen her fine performance as Kitty in The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll. Here are some HQ photos.

You'd think that the studio image makers would have

had a pluck at those eyebrows back in the 50s !

I think Dawn is a cross between Joan Collins and Elizabeth Taylor, judging by some of the images posted. What a stunner!!! I wonder what she looked like as she aged?
