I remember seeing this film when I was young.

A man is sillting on a benvh in a gallery, looking at a painting of a house at the end of a path.

All of a sudden he is wallking up the path and enters the house.

It was a strange film, and the people in the house were strange too.

I don't think they could go outside a small plot of land the hous was on.

This one has been bugging me for years.

Could even be a T.Z Episode.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

I'll second (or third) that ID. Another segment of the film features a version of Somerset Maugham's 'Lord Mountdrago' with Orson Welles in the title role. High time a region 2 DVD was available.

Hi, I'm sorry this is such a vague request but I unfortunately dont have much information to offer.

The movie (or perhaps short story) I am trying to hunt down is about a painting that is hanging in an art museum. It is a painting of a house but it is not quite yet finished. The artist is now a ghost that likes to interact with visitors and move in and out of the painting (as one does lol). In one instance he took a light from a visitor of which he then entered the painting and used it to light a candle in the window of the house in the painting, and so the painting evolves. I have no idea of any of the cast members but I thinks its an old black and white movie.

I know the info above is very patchy and probably incorrect, but if any of this rings any bells for you then I would be most greatful for your help.

    Thanks

    Stan

Thank you for answering to this post. I also remember this film from being a kid, watching it twice one year, never to see it again. I remember the tramp picking up cigarette butts in the gallery, and his unlikely fate. Also that it was followed by another film, which I never remembered the details of.

Thank you, the mystery is now solved
