It has to be Happy Birthday (the traditional version rather than the one by Altered Images or Stevie Wonder).

Here are a couple of good runners up though:

Music by John Miles always makes me feel 'lifted', so do the harmonisations of Il Divo.

Come Christmas time a few playings of Little Donkey by Nina and Frederick always puts me in a happy frame of mind for the festivities.

'there's no other way' by blur but i generally don't like feel good songs-i much prefer the gothic organ works of bach and nirvana........''black,black,black,where are we sleeping tonight mother? fathers grave? lock me in the cupboard and feed me pins...pins!''

While certainly not a happy song per se the one to give me a lift and set me ready to face anything is Jackie by Scott Walker

    Or `Good vibrations`.

I agree Sleepin dragon, Tom Jones songs alway put a smile on my face and make me want to sing along. Apart from the `green green grass of home` which makes my smile go the other way lol.

I'm quite liking the Jackie song, but i don't think Tom can be beaten there. I agree with you there though i don't particularly like Green Green Grass, bit too much. If i want depressing music I listen to Lisa Gerrard :-)

Perhaps a tad melancholy to begin with, but the guitar solo from 3:10 always makes me feel very high: -

(I wanted to put up Daydream Beleievr too - but no video on youtube. The Monkees may well take the "Kings of Happy Pop" crown ... if indeed such headwear exists.)
