    B&W movie made I believe in the 40's about a group of north or south pole adventures who have to travel across many crevasses.

    Whose crevasses? and was that before or after they set off for the North/South Pole?

    That was my first guess except that it was in colour. Maybe viewed on a B&W TV set?



    Also consider The Secret Land, Hell Below Zero, The Savage Innocents (all three in colour) or Nanook of The North (B&W but goes way back to 1922)

    Did remember watching the film in the mid 70's so could have been seen on a B&W TV.
