We are currently having a debate on Lufc forum about whether Elland Road was used in the epsoide called Happy release

    HERE IS THE DETAILS

There is a scene in which an escaped prisoner is seen at a Football ground , digging the grass with the words Leeds united fc in the background on the stand, but some say it was in fact Qprs loftus road ground , as it was just round the corner from the BBC WHERE THE SERIES WAS FILMED

Any Porridge fans know which ground was used

Although the BBC Studios were used, the series was also extensively filmed at Elstree and as far as I know, all the locations were in or around London so, (although you can see 'Leeds United FC' in the background), that would make Loftus Road the more likely venue. (I suppose as David Jason's characterBlanco was a Yorkshireman, they had to infer the ground was somewhere in the north of England). That's my theory, anyway!

Somebody else is convinced it was Elland Road: Football Ground Forum

The location link I posted previously, states that "exterior scenes were filmed at various psychiatric hospitals in and around London."

It's most definately Loftus Road QPR's ground, just a stones throw from the BBC's HQ at White City.

It's mentioned in Porridge The Inside Story Richard Webbers informative look on the making of the series.
