Every scene is perfect - each time I watch it, I'm amazed by how good it is. Emma Thompson's dialogue feels authentic and alive. The casting is surprising and, even better, surprisingly good. There is so much humour and yet some truly heart-wrenching moments. I'm not a fan of period pieces, and yet this is my favourite movie. I love the Dashwood sisters as though they were my own family.

And if these words don't convince you, here are two more: Alan Rickman!
