I really must learn to write down the names of films that have enjoyed watching but forget the titles. This one features a family man and wife who are terrorised by a local gang of youngsters who if I recall plan to steal ( or borrow ) his car. This is possibly as a lesson for objecting to their behaviour outside his house. I seem to remember the youngsters meeting in a drug store and starting out fairly harmlessly. Can't recall the ending I am afraid.
Any ideas gratefully received.

If you are talking about a black and white movie from the 1950s, this one has that exact plot, but I find it hard to believe that was broadcast recently. It's a very obscure (but well made) movie I saw decades ago.

Thank you will.15, that's the one. I cant recall the channel I saw it on although I don't think it was a dedicated movie channel. It was shown about 2-3 years ago. I thought it was very well made too. I will look out for it now.
