Time for me to once again hit y'all up for some assistance. I've culled some queries from other forums from posters who are trying to identify movies that they suspect are British in origin. Here's what we've got.
1) "I don't have much to tell you. It is a British movie, which I saw on television a four or five years ago. It was in color, either from the late 50's or 60's. All I can remember is that a buxom woman is doing a hideous dance, meant to be sexy, in a bar. Everyone in the bar is taken with her. She leaves, goes home, goes to bed, and then this killer appears, staring at her from above the bed. He decapitates her. Later, he is caught and is found to be under the spell of, or drugged and controlled by, a scientist or college professor."
2) "British kids show that aired on American television during the early 80s.The only thing I remember are a group of kids who placed what looked like colored playdough on a train or some vehicle to turn it on."
3) "No idea when this film was aired, but it was also released as a radio play and possibly a book/playStory: young girl from lower class family in England - they are pressuring her towards degrading forms of work for money. Through her church and vicar she hears of opportunities to move to Australia (due to there being so many more men than women over there, as many had been deported), and is persuaded to do so. She is met at the other end by a gentleman who she becomes housekeeper for - over time they fall in love and are married."
4) "I sure hope someone out there can help because this has been driving me insane for YEARS! It was a black & white movie that I saw on tv as a kid in the late 60's or early 70's, so was probably filmed in the 60's. I think it was filmed in England. Main character, named Isabel, is a wheelchair-bound older woman, a sculptress, who was also rich and lived in an old Victorian mansion with her younger, hot husband and her young, beautiful nurse. The husband and nurse are having an affair and plot to murder Isabel for her money. They push her down an elevator shaft; the camera shows us her twisted body. When the police come. surprise, the body is gone. Isabel (who we never see again until the end of the movie) pulls stunts to freak out the husband and the nurse, until they are finally caught by the police. My family thinks I've dreamed the whole thing up, but I know it's real. I even remember what the characters looked like."
