    When Sammy arrives in the Sudan, he gets off the riverboat at a place called MJUB'AO, which also has a railway station, judging by the steam train arriving. If that was the real name of the place, its name must have changed since the film cast and crew were there in the summer of 1962, as I've searched all over the Internet and can find no mention of it. Does anyone know if this was the location's real name and if so, what is it known as these days?

    I think this place may be the modern Juba. It is a river port on the White Nile in southern Sudan, but on the Internet, I can find no reference to it once being called Mjub'ao. Here are two frames of the location from the film:
