Excellent news about Clash By Night, one of my favourite b films![]()
Why do they issue films that have recently been screened on UK tv ?
Both During One Night and Clash by Night have been on BBC2 in recent years, so many potential buyers will already have them, which must affect sales !
I got so excited by these new releases my wife had to tell me to calm down a bit!
So looking forward to getting these..
Funny enough we were at the old Brockhouse factory only yesterday where they made the little Corgi Scooter Richard Hearne rides in Something In The City towards the end of the flick. Such and interesting week and now the DVD release.
Thanks Renown you just made my week.![]()
Yes i got Clash by Night off the TV a couple of years ago so won't need to buy it
The Robert Beatty film is listed as QUEL BANDITO SONO IO! on the BFI site (1950)
How much does the owner of the film receive for the TV screening? Perhaps that outweighs any possible loss of sales?

Ordered these yesterday afternoon and received them 15 mins ago. Thanks Renown!

Ordered these yesterday afternoon and received them 15 mins ago. Thanks Renown!
Mr Pastry always arrives on time.
Top job again Renown with some superb DVD case design and the collectors books are just great.
If you go on their site and look at their catalogue it is so disappointing that they only seem to release films that have had a tv airing in recent times. They have so much of interest from the 30s but they never release any of it.Also when i was in the shop in the BFI Southbank a couple of weeks ago Renown DVDs were selling for £12.99!I know they are cheaper online but that is rather pricey.Sad to say that most of the rare British feature films seem to originate from the States
On Ebay dvds-on-line have Clash by Night for £9.95 inc p&p (10 copies available) as well as other new releases from Renown and it is only August. This is good value.
Some of the Renown titles are included in this week's Mega Monday offer from Zavvi meaning they're £4:85 for today only, including Send For Paul Temple, Subway In The Sky, Dance Little Lady, Blind Date and Gelignite Gang. Just ordered Smokescreen/The Hi-Jackers for the same price.![]()
