Dam - did no one like it at all????
I must be too sentimental, obviously!
I managed to track down this animation of one of my favourite childrens books / films of my youth on Youtube recently.
Despite the dated animation, the film seems to have fantastic charm and a first rate cast and characterisation that seems so lacky in modern efforts. I remember in the 1970's how I always looked forwards to the childrens holidays knowing that this and the Animated Lion The Witch, and The Wardrobe would all be on telly, along with the re-runs of the tv series of 'Animated Classics' (Anyone remember those?)
Featuring the fantastic voices of Mollie Sugden, Windsor Davies, Roy Kinnear and Michael Horden as the fantasically mellow Sea Dragon, so beautifully and amusingly drawn.
It would seem a live action remake is begging to be made of this though I doubt without very careful casting it will measure up.
A wonderful film from my youth. Anyone else enjoy it?
