The article "The end of a seafaring tall story" is a bit odd. It keeps saying things like:
Every square yard of seafront space was expected to be filled for the Parade of Sail
The ships and their crews were spending today preparing their vessels to head out to sea once more.
The larger ships were due to head out of the port from 2.30pm.
If, as expected, the current wind conditions continue ...
The parade itself was due to begin at about 4pm ...

I kept expecting it to say that the Parade of Sail had been cancelled due to a cyclone sweeping through the harbour![]()

My dad took me to see the tall ships in the albert dock,liverpool in the late 1980s(i think?) it seemed to be a big event so i imagine they're not a regular visitor?
