Recently during some research into Ivor Novello, I became intrigued by his involvement in one of Hitchcock's earliest films...."The Lodger"...

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0017075/

This seems to be Hitchcock's first "cameo" appearance on film....here's the WIKI list of his others...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...eo_appearances

Do any members know of any other Directors who have also made "cameo" appearances in their own films... ?

    Cheers

Sorry! Didn't mean to put the dampers on - just being helpful. I could be wrong anyway. I only found these two and they're not restricted to "cameos":

The record for most cameos must surely go to John Landis's film Into The Nightwhich featured :

    David Cronenberg

    Landis, himself,

    Waldo Salt (Screenwriter)

    Rick Baker (FX)

    Colin Higgins (Screenwriter)

    Daniel Petrie

    Paul Mazursky

    Paul Bartel

    Don Siegel

    Jim Henson

    Amy Heckerling

    Roger Vadim

    Lawrence Kasdan

    Jonathan Demme

    Carl Gottlieb (Jaws Co-writer)

I was given to understand that M Night Shylaman is the paediatric doctor in the scene of Sixth Sense when the mother is suspected of beating her child. Do many directors have speaking parts I wonder?
