Thanks, Mr Pastry Time.
Just a little note that the
MANCHESTER FILM FAIR
will be on 16th October 2010
10AM till 4PM
SACHAS HOTEL, TIB STREET
£2 adult entry
We had quite a meet of members there last year so hope to bump into some of you there once again..
Already noted on my calendar. I visited the Manchester fares regularly in the 1990s. If I recall correctly my final purchases were a press pack for the ‘Titfield Thunderbolt’ and a nice mounted photo of a scantily-clad Hazel Court complete with autograph. I presume this sort of stuff is not as abundant as it once was. I’ll still give it a try though.
Hi. The film fair scene nationwide is nothing like it was in the 70's,80's and 90's, but I still pop along to some of them when work lets me this end. It was nice last year though to meet some of the names from this very forum and we also wound up having a meal at the hotel together talking more about old films, autographs and the like than eating. You should however still find many old films on DVD, autographs, stills and posters on offer usually so if you have the time its worth an outing. Will post another reminder nearer the time..
I used to go to the ones in the shopping centre by Piccadilly bus station in the 1980s - think I've still got a few Picturegoers from back though the student grant didn't allow me to buy much![]()

Thanks Mr Pastry Time. I might just get to that. I have a mate who usually has a stall there. It's the same day though that I have to be back in Buxton in the evening to see Susan Penhaligon's play.
