I think it's the StreetView lense that makes things look further away. This flickr image is a much better match. There is a window visible half-way down the side wall of the far building that you could see in the screen grab, had I not put an orange line through it.

Anthony and everyone, greetings. What might be of interest is this 1980s (?) photograph of Woolworth's somewhere in central Watford with, obviously due to the colour scheme, a Barclays bank adjacent to it.

    Re-shaping the Woolworth Property Base - 1982-1990.

    (Image a few scrolls downward)

Even better is the identical upper half of Barclays which matches the Barclays/Flickr photo, yet the bottom half is somewhat different. Hmmm.....

    Thanks Rick,

I'm just shocked you managed to find a photo of the Watford Woolworths - you would not believe how long I've been looking for for an image of the store without any joy. Then again this '70s frontage would not have helped identify the '60s image.

I have to say the lower half of the Barclays bank looks identical to me.

Oh, ok then Anthony. Just looks like in the Flickr photo there is a doorway underneath the second inward window whilst on the Woolworths Memories photo nothing extra. Maybe the angle just micro-misses the exact brickwork!

This is the last image that needs identification. Looks like the same complicated one-way system as Queens Road/High Street so my guess is it can't be too far away.
