I have been recording all these, they are very good. So far they have shown four and I think that there will be thirteen of them.
Don't think anyone has mentioned this yet, but BBC4 are showing 'Time to Remember' on Wednesdays repeated Sundays - the Pathe newsreel series made for television in the 1950s which I remember so well from when I was so high, with its swinging pendulum and clanking chime opening.
The only complaint/ reservation I might have is that instead of showing the full programmes they are taking sections from different ones and putting them together in some sort of 'theme' introduced by Lesley Sharp.
Anyway, a delight nonetheless to hear the narrations by Ralph Richardson, Roger Livesey, Niall Maginnis, Michael Redgrave, Stanley Holloway, Edith Evans, Joyce Grenfell, Basil Rathbone and the rest - you wouldn't get a cast like that these days.

Poor old Time To Remember has been plundered and rehashed many times over the years by lazy researchers, but that obviously says what a superbly made series it was.
