I cannot believe that there has been no comments on this revamp of GMTV. I could not watch the One Show because I could not stand Christine Bleakley with the ghastly voice and the vacuus permanent grin. I gave it a fair trial and it is quite good but oh dear, I still cannot stand that voice. Who on earth thought that she was worth all that money? Give me Penny Smith any day.[s][/s]

How does a TV show get nominated after only two weeks on air?

    Is it:

A - This show is already soo fabulous that it is surely worthy of an award

B - It's dying on its arse and needs some quick publicity to buoy up the ratings

    Or

C - There's nothing else to nominate in this dismal category.

I would be interested to know who it was who nominated the programme. ITV is little more, if any more, than the TV equivalent of one of those celeb type magazines that you see in supermarkets. But even by their pathetic standards this is utterly ridiculous.

Is that the one with the bloke with the brum accent who has had a personality bypass and sits squinting at the autoque for his next line?

Next to him is some sort of squeaking doll you might find in Toysurus?

Somebody wrote in a newspaper about Chiles:"If I wanted to look at a grumpy git the first in the morning,I will look in the mirror."

Are there any other programmes in the Best daily show with the two most annoying presenters on TV category ?

It sounds like a bit of ITV propaganda to me - I read that the programme lost a third of its initial viewers within days!

I will sometimes watch a few minutes after m'boy has gone to school as a quieter option to Hero 108 on CITV. It's a typical sofa-style lightweight affair and if you can tolerate Chiles and Bleakley, which I can, it's not too bad.

But I expect it wears thin after prolonged exposure...hence the backward slide in the viewer numbers.

Ditto timewise because of the one thing that ITV will never be able to get round - ADVERTS and to make matters worse, morning ads. are the most cretinous.

AND (while I'm here on my soap-box) I still don’t understand how they get away with having a phone-in ‘lottery’ where people have to phone in for a £1 (I won’t even comment on the ‘questions’).

It’s no different to selling raffle tickets, BUT you try and set up a national raffle/lottery and see how far you get.

There have been quite a few instances of people trying to raffle their houses when they could not find a buyer, but then fell foul of the law on running a lottery, in particular, there was the couple in the south west last year that finally got the go-ahead but only after many, many months of legal wrangling.

It’s a disgrace that they are allowed to get away with it (virtually all their daytime progs. run one), but I suspect there are certain politicians who have a finger in the ITV pie and bend the rules to sustain their investment in this pathetic commercial TV set-up.

    Ooooh, I feel better now

I see "Dr. Charm" is still there (at the back) - I'm always reminded of Russ Abbott's TV doctor when I see him ont'elly.

Terrible schadenfreude watching the pair dying on their behinds but he has had a charisma by-pass and she has probably dropped a massive career clanger in not staying with the Beeb and establishing herself as a solo presenter. That said, the whole Daybreak schedule and the vast cold set looks flawed.

I am allergic to Adrian Chiles and most ITV programmes so I have never seen it but I can well imagine what it is like and I read that the figures have plunged to 560,000 while the BBC's breakfast show is getting about 1,300,000. I was very pleased when Chiles switched over to ITV.
