I'm kinda embarassed to ask this on a Brit forum as this may well be an American movie!
What I'm struggling to find out is a Vietnam or Korean war movie title where I can only recall the ending.
All I can recall is the final scene where a helicopter (Huey?) lands and a bunch of journalists climb out and approach a war correspondent who's obviously the worse for wear. He ignores their questioning and focuses on a tiny American flag fluttering in the breeze stuck on a decimated tree stump.
I've searched for the usual suspects but the answer eludes me!
Thanks for the help in advance, from a long time stalker![]()

Thanks for your welcome Nathalie.
I think it could be The Green Berets

I think it could be The Green Berets
Sorry that's not the one!
The first thing to come into my head was The Green Berets too. Was it made in colour or b/w, that could narrow it down a bit.
If it isn't Green Berets, doubtful it could be a Vietnam War movie.
I think you are looking for The Killing Fields but it was Cambodia rather than Vietnam.
Thanks everyone for tolerating me!
I've found the title is 'we were soldiers'
Ironically I've got this dvd in my library, whatever made me forget the final scene is beyond me![]()
