I'm now involved in the local Victorian Society and - in an effort to improve their staging of the yearly Victorian-style varity show - am looking for episodes of the BBC show 'The Good Old Days'. Can anyone help?

Thanks if you can. Trades available.

I have three complete shows from 1979-1980 spanning 2 DVD's. Those appearing include Ken Dodd, Frankie Vaughan, John Inman, The Chuckle Brothers, Bernie Clifton, Pat Mooney, The Kings Singers and Gemma Craven. One of the shows is the 1979 Christmas Special. Great fun!

Enjoyable as 'The Good Old Days' is, its portrayal of Victorian Music Hall is I understand, highly romanticised and far removed from what Victorian variety shows were really like. Therefore, if you want to be more authentic with your show, it would be worth getting hold of a DVD entitled 'Music Hall Days' (Presented by Lionel Blair). It should be readily available on ebay at low cost. That said, I would love to see 'The Good Old Days' have an official release on DVD!

Thanks for the insight into this. I'll follow your lead and get the DVD. Cheers.
