could possibly have been part of the 'dramarama-spooky' series? there's not much information on the episodes though on EOFFTV and BFI sites although the episodes are listed with a vague cast list.
Or at least I assume it was a ghost story. Being a child of the 80s, I probably watched a lot more grown up television than I was supposed to!
I remember, I think a one off drama?, where two teenagers are hiding out in an old abandoned house and when they are discovered there, they hide. One of them inside a wardrobe which contains a mirror. As he/she hides in there it is soon apparent that they are not alone and in the reflection see the figure of another man.
My memory of this is so vague but I think my sister (who now doesn't recall it at all) said, when I asked her as we were watching, that it was the teenager's brother. Presumably a ghost.
That's it and it has bugged me for years as to what it was. As said, I can't even be sure if it was a ghost story or even part of a serial. But I do remember it being a chilling scene. One that has left it's mark.
Anyone recall this or does it sound familiar?
Cheers!

I'm afraid I can't help with this one but I wonder if anyone can remember my mirror tv query . Must have been late 50's and the programme had the usual warning for those days. "This programme is not suitable for children or people of a nervous disposition". The story was about a man with a fear of mirrors and it ended with him hanging himself behind a mirror. All that you saw was a broken mirror and the dangling legs. It frightened the life out of me as a kid. I think it was a Sunday night series. Anybody ????
Thanks for the replies so fay. Cassidy, sorry I can't help you with that either. Would love to see it though. Jaycad, I vaguely remember the dramarama spooky series but I'm sure the programme I remember was on a lot later unless dramarama was on later? I don't recall the broadcast times but it was a children's series, no? Was there another kid's series called 'Shadows'?
'shadows' series one was released by network dvd a couple of months back, from the episodes on the dvd release the only one that sounds remotely like the episode you describe is 'an optical illusion' in which two girls and one boy outstay their welcome during a visit to a stately home. another possibility is 'the clifton house mystery'?
Thanks for the heads up with 'Shadows' didn't realise it had been released! Will check out these possibilities. Thanks very much for the information.
