    Hi all,

I saw this film/TV series in the mid 1980's. it featured a man trying to escape from a village where people were trying to do harm to him probably kill him.

the parts I remember of the film was when he was hiding in the church as the villagers perform some sort of ritual, he also kept trying to escape and seemed to run for miles but ended up back in the village and at the end of the film he managed to flag a police car down with two officers in it, who seemed friendly, until the man realised that they had took him back to the village and that was where the film ended.

I thought it might be Hammer house of horror Black Carrion but watched that and was disappoint to fin it was't that.

Thanks in advance for any post threaded on this subject.

Hi I think the film you want is the second story on The Monster Club its an all star cast and I remember it every time I'm out in country lanes going over humped back bridges :P xxxxxxxxx http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081178/

As an alternative possibly The Legacy (1978).

Katherine Ross & Sam Elliott play two not very bright American's who pitch up at John Standing's palatial gaff (Loseley House, Nr Guildford) for Ms Ross to claim an inheritance.
When things turn ugly, they try to escape but keep driving around in circles seemingly unable to find the nearby A3.
A hump backed bridge also features when as they attempt to cross it, they are shunted off by a large truck. I don't remember a church scene, but they do continuously drive past one at a crossroads.

Yes, I agree. I think it's The Monster Club, though it's the third "Humgoo Story". Stuart Whitman, Lesley Dunlop and Patrick Magee are the main actors in it.
