What a shame - another BBC cut-back that should have been elsewhere. Our culture, and our Health Service I fear, is shrinking

    More bad bad bad news.
The Electric Proms was a great feature.
I well enjoyed the superb Shirley Bassey concert with the magnificent BBC Concert Orchestra.
Only when the BBC - the envy of the braodcasting world - is battered and downsized into a toy channel - like so many on the Sky platform - will we miss it for it's breadth and quality.

Although I like some of the BBC message boards, it's not nearly as sad as the BBC axing so many good shows on TV.

What really struck me last year was the axing of the 'Casualty 1900' series.

    What's going on, folks.......

    Stuff like this.......

The new row over the Trust's accommodation arrangements comes as the National Audit Office prepares to publish a scathing report on the way the BBC spent 813million refurbishing Broadcasting House. It will look at how the project came to run two years late and 20million over budget

Same all around the country I'm afraid. Now we have no Empire, people just want to build their own little ones.

Us small people just try to hang onto our castles...

Local authorities are also using bailiffs to pursue council tax defaulters, with more than a million visits last year. If you want a job, here is one that will last while all around are losing theirs.

Very sorry to hear this news ... I agree with Edward G, the Shirley Bassey Electric Proms Concert was one of best concerts I've ever seen ... an incredible scintillating performance by Dame Shirley backed by the superb playing and thundering power of the BBC Concert Orchestra ... and a perfectly choosen programme ... perfection ... this concert was television at it's very best.

Couldn't agree more Mrs Peel - I am still in your debt for putting me on to this magnificent concert in the first place!
