    Hi all.

I wonder if any of you can help me with the name of a U.S. TV film I saw when I was young.

The plot involves some kind of crime where the baddy tries to get away in a helicopter, but is chased by a TV news/traffic reporter in another helicopter. The chase helicopter was a Bell 206 Jetranger, but then it was always a Jetranger or Hughes 500 in all seventies films wasn't it lol.

I don't know if the ending was predictable, but it wasn't to me when watching at a young age......I won't give away the ending now, for those who have not seen it.

    Could it be this?:

Birds of Prey (TV 1973) - IMDb

According to the trivia though, David Janssen was flying a Hughes rather than a Jetranger!

If it's not that one, there are a whole load of 'helicopters in films' here:

    Euryale.

Your reply gave me a good chuckle.....Yes you are correct that I got the helicopter type wrong, but I guess I was only young at the time (about five) and I suppose my memory decided to alter things a little.

So, why did it make me chuckle? Later in life I became a military recognition expert, and had to visually recognise over 4000 different aircraft, land vehicles and water craft instantly lol.

Thanks for your speedy reply, and I am sure I will be searching your the list in your second post, to find more films to watch :)

Wasn`t there one film featuring a helicopter which starred Larry Hagman? One scene he lands on the the back of a low loader. No idea what it was called though.

I have both Birds of Prey and Deadly Encounter and the film in question does sound to me like Birds of Prey. Both of them are pretty good (if, like me, you like helicopter films).

Yes, the Larry Hagman film, Deadly Encounter is good. I have never seen Birds of Prey, but it sounds good. It would be nice to get the chance to see them again... ahem...
