This is fantastic news this is one of my faves and only have it on a bad VHS
To be released by Elevation Sales. Does anyone have experience of that company?
IIRC it's part of the same group that owns Lionsgate and Optimum.
Hi all,
I have just noticed that the Ealing movie "The Halfway House" is due to be released on the 20th June.
I saw this movie over 30 years ago and it was one of those old movies that stuck in my head as a kid. Looking forward to seeing it again

I'm looking forward to my copy dropping through the letterbox.
Seems I ama a bit late with the news. My Movie Mail catalogue only dropped through the letterbox yesterday!!
I have two copies that arrived this morning: one from Amazon that I pre-ordered; and another from MovieMail, as I'd seen their advert and had forgotten that I'd already ordered it. I'll send the Amazon (Indigostarfish) one back and get a refund.
Looking forward to watching the film tonight.

Are there any extras on this DVD?
There are no extras, just the film.

This is a nice crisp print. There are a few small jumps, but nothing too distracting. The sound is also good, but there are no subtitles.
Thoroughly enjoyable.

Received today from Moviemail, congratulations to Optimum and Studio Canal on a stunning transfer - crystal clear sound and picture, an absolute treat. Buy this without hesitation! Hopefully Optimum will now release the remaining films from the Ealing catalogue in similar quality.

Still not received my copy from PLAY.com.
I cancelled my order with Play as soon as I saw that "The Halfway House" was in stock at Moviemail. Play seem to have had a few problems recently - they were also unable to supply Owd Bob or Tawny Pipit on their release dates either. They have usually been my first choice but I may switch to Moviemail, they also produce an excellent catalogue that helps keep you informed of all new releases.

Good to hear that it's such a lovely print, now if only Amazon would fulfil my order

I received my copy from Amazon at the same time as I got the MovieMail copy, i.e. several days before the official release date. I then sent the Amazon copy back to IndigoStarfish in Jersey and have had a refund. So it's odd that they can't get a copy to you. Was it a very limited release? Should I have kept my spare copy to sell on the InterWeb at a vast profit in a couple of weeks time?
