You're not thinking of The Dresser?
I'm looking for a movie (late 60s - early 70s) starring Albert Finney where Finney or an other actor, who had a brief pop star career, play a gay character.
If I could find the movie, It must be easy to find the actor next to Finney...
You're not thinking of The Dresser?
Sure about Albert Finney as that sounds a lot like Peter Finch in Sunday Bloody Sunday (1971) - IMDb he plays a gay doctor whose lover is Murray Head who had a rather stalling pop career from the 60's onwards.
Apologies if this is a waste of time.
If Bruiser is incorrect ( but it sounds right to me) This ones 90's with Albert

Doesn't work. Probably meant A Man of No Importance (1994)
Surely bruiser was right? It has to be Sunday Bloody Sunday:
Peter Finch and Murray Head, who did have a hit years later with One Night in Bangcock (from the musical Chess)
One of my favourite home video recordings, from a BBC2 showing the day Seve Ballesteros won the British Open, 22nd July 1984.

Are you thinking of A Man Of No Importance 1996 in which he plays a gay bus conductor in Dublin?.
Thanks, for all the info, it can't be The Dresser, nor the others as they are too recent (not 60s or 70s).
The Sunday Bloody Sunday is really a link I need to follow, you people are amazing, I give you the wrong actor but you come with the right movie! Thanks.

I love A Man of No Importance. I think it's a terrific film. It's covered extensively in my new biography of Finney. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Strolling-P.../dp/0750978864
Murray is Anthony Head's older brother
I remember showing Sunday, Bloody Sunday about 45 years ago and I was totally amazed when I saw Peter Finch and Murray Head kissing on the lips. I'd never seen anything like that on the screen before. In 1971 to see two men kissing like that on the screen was very unusual indeed. Today, it would seem like nothing.
