Dame Elizabeth Taylor, one of the 20th Century's biggest movie stars, has died in Los Angeles at the age of 79.
Very sad - but for a woman with so many terrible health problems, she did well to get as far as she did.
She must be one of the last of the 'true' stars of old Hollywood.
Sad news but not unexpected as others have said. A real film star in every sense of the word.
RIP Liz
R.I.P to a true beauty and legend x
As has been said a true " star ".
R I P Ms T.
I have not long heard this on the car radio.
I know she was confident that she would be reuninted with Richard Burton when her time came. So no doubt they will be catching up right now.
I don't know why this news should make me so sad. Most deaths of the famous at a reasonable age don't resonate much... but Elizabeth Taylor seemed much more part of my life than many other stars. I wonder if it was because she was British? Or because she looked like people I knew? Whatever the reason, and however much this was expected, it really is still sad news.
A true icon of the screen R I P.
In her prime a stunningly beautiful Woman. A real Hollywood Star and a very good actress. Always remember her especially in Giant.
With her health problems, it's amazing she lasted so long.
RIP
R.I.P Dame Elizabeth Taylor... I too share the opinion that Taylor was one of the last true great Hollywood Stars. Although aged 79, she had been in poor health for the last few years, and I guess it really was her time to go..... We will always have her films to remember her by, and this is one star who earned her "Iconic" status.
One of the truly great movie stars. R.I.P.
We would have to go back to 1943 to find a time when Elizabeth Taylor was not in the news. I just watched Ivanhoe again. What a dazzling beauty she was. Her death is a leading story today here at a time of major international events. I don't think there is anyone left who reached that level of fame over so many decades.
A Naturally stunningly Beautiful Woman....and gifted Actress......
who could ever forget her role as Martha in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf............
A True Icon' she had a special Quality...R.I.P.

Dilys Powell once used the phrase "Once a Goddess, always a Goddess" relating I think to Ava Gardner. The sixties would have been a lost decade without Elizabeth Taylor.
A true Hollywood star - and a British one
RIP Dame Liz
A great actress, a beautiful and compassionate woman, and a drama queen in every possible sense.
Bless you Miss Taylor. Say hello to Mr Burton for us now you are reunited. RIP x
