Martine McCutcheon's teeth make her look so hard, not to mention weird and scary. She creeps me out, actually.
Which British actors have had extensive dental work to make their teeth look too perfect?

I thought this was going to be a different take on the topic. I was thinking it was about which actors have had to make the switch from natural teeth to dentures. Although I guess that also encompasses the topic. :)
What happened to Dennis Waterman's choppers? He doesn't look quite right on "New tricks"!
LOL
What an evil topic!
Dennis Waterman came to mind immediately ... I'm sure there are others![]()
What on Earth has Sean Bean had done ?
From the comments I see here and in similar places I think that a lot of people do already fixate on an actor's teeth. Especially the teeth of British actors. That's why I asked why it was so strange that people comment about hairpieces or cosmetic surgery when an actor has it done but they only comment about teeth when the actor hasn't had any (or enough) work done on them. It seemed like a double standard

Amazing. I can't recall anyone I know mentioning an actor's teeth! unless they were amazingly beautiful or buck teeth or there was a gap and even then, often an actress, would respond, 'I deliberately kept it as part of my charm'.Maybe American actors have better teeth since you single out Brit actors? I honestly have never noticed unless the actor is old and I 'hear' his false teeth getting in the way of his pronunciation and then I feel sorry for him.
Somehow, it's always seemed so rude on my part to pick apart an actor for his teeth or his hairpiece or his nose or whatever. I don't do that to people I know. However, when it comes to his performance, then no holds barred because that's what he's there for.
All best,
Barbara

Ah, but you're hardly a "typical American"
You're well travelled and know that in other countries people don't fixate about their teeth as much as many Americans seem to do.
See the IMDb Message Board about Roger Livesey as one of many examples that I see. They are full of praise for his acting and especially his voice but they can't resist a comment about "his beaver-like teeth". I see that sort of thing all the time, nearly always from Americans. I assume it's because Americans aren't allowed on TV or film unless they have perfectly formed, fluorescent white, gnashers
Steve
I much prefer imperfect teeth as long as they are clean. Identikit gnashers do nothing for me (and quite often, nothing for the recipient).
I know he's American not British but Wayne Newton comes to mind in the fake teeth category. He's had dental work done as I have heard - not sure if they are capped or not.
It's possibly important to distinguish between sheer cosmetic toothery and just the saddish reality of some ageing actor having lost their natural ones and having to have replacements inserted. Depending on the dentistry job performed, that can often change an older person's mouth-shape.
Overall I would guess that historically a film star was under much more pressure than a TV star, simply becases of the size of the screen. With the advent of giant plasma screens, perhaps that is no longer so easily imagined. There are many before/after pix on the web. Tom Cruise's youthful broken front teeth spring to mind. The trouble is nowadays that you never know if some of this stuff has been photoshopped.
