Seem to remember posting on this subject last year. Have you heard this years entry to the Eurovision song contest? http://youtu.be/y54uuEcMYj0
Have we no desire to win ?, why don't we pull out and stop wasting time and money on this farce?.

With Off Topic Discussions again dominating the New Posts, I'm surprised no-one's thought of starting a thread called 'British Films - What's the Point?'.

This Forum has gone into serious decline in the last year.

Eurovision Song Contest, What's The Point?

There is no point, it's a complete and utter waste of time and money. It's main purpose seems to be providing various "jollies" for youngsters and oddballs with little or no talent.

We usually get that Thread at least once or twice a year...... often around the time of the Oscars, but not this year......

I thought a proper boy band was doing Eurovision this year? I don't imagine we'll win, but getting a couple of votes off someone other than Eire would be nice......

The Eurovision song contest is just for people who don't really like music. Just as the Olympic Games are just for people who don't really like sport - it's just a pity that, as a Londoner, I am forced to subsidise the bastards.

    Hi,
I think the current set up is more prone or tempting for anyone who wishes to get at the fiddle. I think the BBC jointly funds it, as it is beneficial in things like the news. They may get in return, some video report/news item because they donate ex amount of money. But I am not happy with the voting system.

I'm intrigued as to whom the 'bastards' are?

To be fair other countries play their entries and so they are hits before the big night, the BBC hasn't bothered playing our effort

It intrigues me as to why the BBC never seems to play our effort much, before the contest. I also wonder why they never seem to play the winner afterwards. Is it that they realise the whole thing should be laid to rest or given to another Broadcaster who might make a genuine effort to win.
I stand by my idea of last year, give it to ITV and make the "Honour" of being our entry the prize for winning "X factor".
