TG4 7 part series 1916 - Seachtar na Csca (The Easter Seven). The series tells the stories behind the seven signatories of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic. It's up on the TG4 Player for those who missed it. TG4 surpassed themselves with this one, definitely worth watching.

I've just recently purchased Curious Journey along with Mr Griffiths film on Michael Collins " Hand Out Your Brighest Colours " from Amazon.
dpgmel,
I think that should be "Hang Up Your Brightest Colours"! But if you want to hang them out instead, be my guest...
The best presentation of a documentary I have ever seen by the impassioned Kenneth Griffith. Amazingly , the single review on Amazon (sold as 1 part of a 2-disc title "Michael Colins and The Easter Rising") sniffs at this thrilling slice of history and says "Presentation is a bit stiff"! So was the reviewer!![]()
Yes it should be Up. thanks Edward. The quote is from GBS on hearing of the death of Michael Collins.
I know but thankfully that review didn't put me off, as you say first class documentaries.![]()
This is the section of the film Mise Eire (1959) which deals with the 1916 Rebellion - I can't find the version with English subtitles that was on YouTube a few months ago but it's still worth watching for the extraordinary newsreel footage and the wonderful score by Sean O'Riada.
Don't feel too guilty....

I noticed that in the Collins docu, Kenneth has noticeably switched from British to English....
............ and totally ignores much of what those other worthy Irishmen had told him in the other documentary, which was actually quite good, unlike this Collins one which seems mildly demented to me.
