Howard, if it's the sequence 1.15:05 into the film, it's the adagio from Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta by Bela Bartok. It's been used a lot in films and television for creepy moments, including in Kubrick's The Shining.

could be a togh one this?...am wanting to know where ive heard a peice of background music played in " in search of dracula ( chris lee 1974)
its very creepy and string based . played at the point towards the end just as it shows where bela lugosi came from,and at the end of a silent clip of one of his films)ive heard it b 4 but cannot think where.
any ideas ?

but have heard it elsewhere other than the shinning though .
