I read the plot for a movie and thought I remembered seeing it. But the movie turned out to be Nicole Kidman in Birth.

I'm sure the movie I saw was British and the kid was a teenager rather than 10.

    Any ideas?

Perhaps if you have some more information about how you know it isn't these guesses it might be helpful to home in on the right film?

Well the one I'm thinking of involved a teenager claiming to be the late husband. As with Birth, he just turns up and makes the claim to the widow.

Chances Are - according to the plot - involves a guy meeting a girl and then only after she brings him home starts to remember things from his previous life and concludes he was the husband of the girl's mother.

17 Again involves a guy who wishes to be 17 again and then he is. Not unlike Big. Not a reincarnation theme. It's only a couple of years old. I can't be sure when I saw the one I'm thinking of but it was further back than that.

Birth has a whole load of other aspects that I don't remember being involved and I don't recall the widow being such a big star as Kidman.

In the one I'm thinking of the kid just turns up at the house and the conversation takes place at the front door. It's the look of the street and the houses that make me think it's British. Leafy suburbia.

Maybe I should have said that at the beginning, but I really thought the thread title would have three or four people here knowing it instantly.
