    Hi.

    I do like the Franchise affair story, but feel disapointed in the end. Without spoiling it, I do think it would be a better ending if it had the opposite outcome? Anyone agree? I do realise I am talking in code lol.

    I find the plot really distasteful. The detective decides that he has no sympathy with the
      Spoiler:
    teenage girl even after he's discovered she's a rape victim
    but makes up his mind that she's 'bad' and it's all her fault. I would recommend reading Sarah Water's take on the same story

    Gosh Captain, that passed me by, I obviously wasn`t paying enough attention to the dialogue in both versions I`ve seen, I do that sometimes. Yes, that is distasteful.

    It's more explicit in the book but I think even in the 1951 film you can work out what has gone on with the holiday with Peter Jones. Just look at her age
