Hi I'm not a saddo just something from my childhood I can remember.

I do reemember a particular short bbc2 film.

I think it was Italian, in bright sunshine, a small girl, a petrol pump, a canal, a white picket fence and an old man !!!!! It repeated over and over and over .

    Why I remeber this I don't know !

Would love to see it again !

    Any Ideas

    Thanks

    Hi tritrang1,
I bought "Lunch Hour" for "Giuseppina" and another BP short with a motoring theme, "The Home Made Car", which was also oft repeated in the 70's as these Trade Test Transmissions.
    I can heartily recommend both.

Yep. I discovered that. When I read the answer I just thought I'd have a quick look on youtube. When I found it I eagerly posted it before watching. I do remember seeing parts of it.

I well remember seeing this little film when i was at secondary school in the early 70s. Can't believe they would have shown us a sub titled version though - do you think there is an alternative version with either a commentary or a dubbed version especially for schools?

About 8 years after seeing the film i got a job with BP oil as a graphic designer, i don't recall them having any petrol stations in Italy then, unless they were administered by another section of BP. They were still involved in producing films aimed at school children when i was there. I did video covers with titles like the 'story of golf' and the 'story of cricket'. more interesting were the films they made in conjunction with the Natural History Museum. One was about the murder of a rabbit! There were various suspects like foxes, hunters and a man out walking his dog - which on the back cover photo was me and my German Shepherd. The reason for this was the photo library wanted about 300 for a shot of a guy walking his dog in the countryside and the budget didn't stretch to that, so for the princely sum of 5 for film and processing my dog and i featured on the video cover.
