Ship's captain with never ending bottle of rum

I wonder if someone could help me out in naming an old film. It is about a ship's captain. He is a ghost who is cursed to sail the seas because of a cowardly action in the first world war. He redeems himself in the second world war and is accepted into the afterlife by his forbears. The captain has a bottle of liquour, rum or whisky, that refills itself when it becomes empty. Any ideas, we have been trying to get this for a very long time? Thanks.
