Hi I'm new to this forum, what a nice surprise. It got me thinking of plays and series I enjojed. I loved the series A Raging Calm with Alan Badel, and Diana Coupland and I think Michael Williams ( Julie Denchs husband)
I have just reread the Alan Sillitoe trilogy still powerfull after all this time. Does it ring bells for you ?

I mentioned "A Raging Calm" in another thread but I think the writer was the late Stan Barstow

In case you weren't aware the Granada TV series of A Kind of Loving actually adapted all three novels. I saw this when first shown. Clive Wood and Joanne Whalley were excellent. It's available on DVD. I prefer the film version simply because Alan Bates was fantastic.

I enjoyed this series and wish that they would bring it out on DVD. Alan Badel was a very talented actor.
