    Writer Charles Dickens will be celebrated with an exhibition and season of films....

    Six silent films adapted from his work will be screened at Clayport Library in Durham City.

    Silent film expert Dr. David Williams will introduce the films, with accompaniment from pianist George Hetherington.

    The free series will start at 7.30pm on Tuesday (16/01/2012) with a lecture about Dickens on screen, featuring slides and short films.

    January 24: LITTLE DORRIT (1922)
    January 31: DAVID COPPERFIELD (1913)
    February 7: THE CRICKET ON THE HEARTH
    February 21: BLEAK HOUSE (1920) & A TALE OF TWO CITIES (1917) Part 1
    March 6: A TALE OF TWO CITIES Part 2 & OLIVER TWIST (1922)
