    I suspect JK Rowling saw Dead of Night for the first time on 19.5.77 back in the days when quality films were shown at peak time. She would have been 11 so doubt the best story made quite an impression on her

    Thanks Mr. S. I have a copy of Dead of Night but I didn't know that character was called Larry Potter. I didn't pay much attention to that story because it seemed like a kind of filler-in for the movie.
