I have an excellent 16:9 recording of MAKING THE MONKEES on DVD if you're still looking for this.
I am after two pop documentries that have been shown on the main tv stations years ago.
First is a doc about The Everly Brothers. It was shown on BBC1 late evening approx 10 years ago. It may have been part of a series about pop acts that the BBC were showing. It had interviews with both brothers and they told their story.
Second is about The Monkees and is called "Making the Monkees" and was a 50 minute doc from 2007. Can't remember what channel it was on - possibly BBC2.
Same again - had all the members telling their story.
If anyone can help with these, please let me know.
Thanks,
Mark.

I think the Every Bros Documentary was "Songs of Innocence and Experience" - I lent my copy to my brother - and the idiot recorded something else over it !
Hey - Just found it on YouTube ! Is one permitted to download stuff from there and - if so - how ?

Now have The Monkees doc, so just after The Everly Brothers doc.
Thanks for the link Nimuae. No this isn't the doc - but will be an interesting watch. I think you can download programs that allow you to record from youtube.
As i say, this doc was approx 10 years (maybe 15 even) and was, from memory, part of a series. Definitley only up to one hour long and they were shown after the evening news - when it used to be 9pm on BBC1.
Just had a good search on the internet and found what the series was called. It was a BBC series from a few years ago called "Brothers in Arms" which each week was about a pop act of brothers - and their usually firery relationship. In the series was The Everly Brothers, The Kinks, Spandau Ballet, and the lovely "we're best mates with Tony Blair" Gallagher Brothers.
It said that the shows have been repeated since on BBC4 - last time approx 2 years ago. I remember watching them all at the time - except the Gallaghers - and The Everly Brothers one was very good and went right through the ups and downs of their carrer. So if anyone has a copy of this, please let me know.
Thanks.
