The lady in "The Prowler" is that lady I mistook for Brenda Cowling a while back. Sadly our new source of ID for extras wasn't able to identify her.

A correction required, as it turns out Hummies no. 2 is actually Arthur Goodman. Our source via Scott Palmer I can now disclose is veteran assistant director Michael Stevenson and he got mixed up with Arthur's son. Here is a great close-up of Arthur in A Man for All Seasons (1966):

To elaborate, Arthur's son is John (Johnny) Goodman, best known perhaps for being the production supervisor/associate producer/in charge of production of series like THE SAINT and THE PERSUADERS!, which possibly explains why his dad appeared so frequently in the former!

Many thanks to Michael and Scott.

I will also add my thanks to Michael and Scott. It's good to get this man named at last. And your right Gerald he appears at least fifty times in The Saint.

Arnold Ross should be easy to recognise, thanks to Aitch identifying him in that capture from The Saint and also Inspector Clouseau.

How fascinating to learn that Johnny Goodman is the son of our No. 2! His name is as familiar as Goodman Sr.'s face. I also remember Johnny from interviews and commentaries on DVDs for The Saint, The Baron and The Persuaders!. No doubt we'll find more family connections when it comes to identifying Extras. I know the mother of Paul and Jonathan Ross is/was one in EastEnders.

Arthur's most recent appearance in my DVD viewing was as a party guest in Gideon's Way - The Reluctant Witness (1965):

An unsatisfactory shot of main stars John Gregson and Alexander Davion, I'm afraid. Behind them are 'brothers' Mike Pratt and David Gregory.

Peter the Pathologist in 'A Shot in the Dark' (1964)

Coincidence, that's all. I'm actually looking for Harry Greene (husband of Marjie Lawrence), whose death was announced yesterday

Can't say this scene has made an impression before but it's more significant now I know it's Peter Evans who examines the dead body:

That being the unseen chauffeur boyfriend of Elke Sommer (leaving with Andr Maranne). Also present are Herbert Lom and George Sanders.

That's a good one of Peter Evans, cornershop. Coincidentally, I spotted Peter today too, blurred in the background as a cafe customer in The Scales of Justice short The Undesirable Neighbour (1963).

Thank you, Gerald. And for all your other replies the last few days. I also hope to get back on track with The Scales of Justice, which I like to watch on Sunday nights (early hours of Monday morning). Unfortunately, I missed Moment of Decision last week as I slept through my preferred viewing time of 12-5am.

Peter Evans turned up yet again in a film I watched last night - the Danzigers production Part-Time Wife (1961):

Nyree Dawn Porter, who is dining wth her uncle (Henry McCarthy) at a restaurant, looks on in horror as George Roderick steals his car.

I spotted Arthur Goodman last night (front row, left), at an auction in the Interpol Calling episode Private View (1959):

Soon-to-be-arrested villain Michael Goodliffe has just entered the room. His rival bidder is Frederick Leister, front right.

That's a good early sighting of Arthur, cornershop. Sitting behind him is George Curtis and across the aisle from George, two along, is the extra I wondered about yesterday.

Looks like charlie Chan is there too!

Arthur Goodman in 'Gideon's Way' - again

Thanks, Gerald. You must have missed Arthur in A Perfect Crime, the last production episode (filmed May 1965).
The main focus is on John Gregson, as Commander Gideon, who has been accused of assaulting Patrick Bedford:

That's interesting. The lady with the hat, who you "mistook for Brenda Cowling", was his companion in The Prowler:

Maybe his companion in real life? I make that four appearances in Gideon's Way for Mr. Goodman. The others
were in State Visit, my first sighting of him on DVD (post #10), and The Reluctant Witness, earlier this month.

    Endless sightings of Arthur!

Less than 24 hours after I noticed him in Gideon's Way, the prolific Extra was back again - in Endless Night (1972):

Either side of him at the inquest into the death of Hayley Mills' character are George Sanders and (I hope) Philip Stewart.

If you went down to the woods in 1961:

You'd find Peter Evans playing Nazi generals in Invasion Quartet.

Arthur's one of the guests at a party in the pre-credits sequence of The Human Jungle episode The Lost Hours (1963):

The blonde in the middle is Jan Williams, who Ursula Howells believes is the object of husband Leonard Sachs' affections.

Where Have We Seen Jan Before?

As a Masseuse in From Russia with Love (1963):

She'd be a good subject for 'Bit Part Actresses'

Juba Kennerley is among the gamblers at a casino in 'Monte Carlo' in From a Birds Eye View - Hurricane Millie (1970):

Believe it or not, the young man with Millicent Martin and Pat Finley is Kenneth Cranham. Anyone recognise the Croupier?

Sorry to let everyone down again but it could take days, even weeks to sort out all the other captures I've done today and I'm not going to get much time over the Bank Holiday weekend. For the record, the casino scene also includes Roy Beck, Andrew Andreas and Martin Lyder. Elsewhere in the episode, as airline passengers, are MovieDude's 'Lady with a Hat' (the one seen on a bus in a recent capture from The Family Way) and that middle-aged lady with red hair who played a juror in O Lucky Man! (philly will know). A number of potential subjects for 'Who are these people?' ... or do our true experts already know them? As they're so many, I might send one or two of you attachments to find out.

I still haven't got round to sorting those captures out. As it's some weeks ago, I need reminding of some appearances so there's my incentive.

Peter Evans in Ace of Wands - The Beautiful People (filmed in October 1972)

First of a four-part story. Peter appears at the very beginning, on his way to a Peace and Love Fete for the Elderly held
by Edward Hammond, Vivien Heilbron and Susan Glanville - The Beautiful People. I have to say he looks a little frail here:

As you can probably tell, this sequence was shot on ghastly 16mm film. His companion reminds me of Mabel Albertson:

As she appeared in A Fine Madness (1966).

At the fete, Peter plays a game of darts with another uncredited actor. Can't say I recognise him either:

In the next episode, Tarot (Michael Mackenzie) hits the bullseye with all three darts! All due to his magic powers

The glasses are back on in the last image I've selected (might be one or two outtakes if the thread needs a 'bump'):

If you look closely you'll notice parts of the next shot appear (top left and the figure in the middle, Edward Hammond), due to the slow dissolve.

I will be watching parts 3 and 4 later today, hoping for his return. Kathleen Saintsbury, Harry Hutchinson and Hilda Barry are all in this final serial.

Nice shots of Peter Evans, cornershop. I'll be interested to hear what you think of the end of "The Beautiful People": it seems very abrupt and I wonder if a final scene is missing.

Just watched the final episode, Gerald. I only read the first half of your post earlier because I thought you might (inadvertently I'm sure!) reveal part of the plot. Funnily enough, "abrupt" was the very word that came to mind when it ended. No sad Goodbyes, as there were in Raven - another Supernatural series I've been watching lately.

If it's alright with you, we can continue this at the Latest DVD Releases thread for Ace of Wands. I prefer to use the Looking for a Video/DVD one for the lost episodes. Reading Andrew Pixley's notes, it seems there was a reason for that sudden dnouement

Peter Evans didn't return, alas, but there was a surprise appearance by the bearded extra we've seen in The Persuaders! and The Great St. Trinian's Robbery among other things (MovieDude's Unknown Male #94). When I said Peter looked "frail", I was kind of suggesting he didn't look too well. Are there many more credits after 1972? Has anyone made a note of them? It's usually philly that does this for the Extras I think.

Peter's DOCTOR WHO appearance was recorded on 27th and 28th November 1972, so not too long after his ACE OF WANDS work.

Peter Evans is credited in 26 TV episodes, most notably as a regular cast member of "Crime of Passion" either as Clerk of the Court or Court Clerk, his last episode went out August 1972. He is uncredited in The Goodies - Hospital for Hire as one of three "GMC men", this was recorded in April 1973 and broadcast in December 1973.
