I am looking for the following title on DVD.
Anglia At 40 - Regional programme (shown on ITV in 1999) taking a look back over four decades of Anglia TV, Anglia At 40 was presented by Roy Hudd and Helen McDermott, according to the BFI site there were five episodes of Anglia At 40.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I used to like Helen McDermott when she was on Anglia years ago. Always felt that she was badly treated by Anglia when she became ill and her services were disposed of.

I also liked Helen McDermott when she was on Anglia Television, a very familiar face on Anglia Television for many years.

Thank you for your reply Friese-Greene.

Then we got at sometime Becky Jago, who after getting her feet under the table at Anglia went off to better things, but (in my eyes) had to come crawling back to Anglia cos she couldnt make it in the bigger world of power TV, and now has gone off on probably a years maternity leave at 50K a year, thank you very much..

Well, that's how I see it with my cynical eye

I could never make out why Clare Weller was "moved on" and replaced by Becky Jago, or why the beautiful Wendy Hurrell wasn't given the chance to replace her instead of going to that there London place. At least we have the lovely Amanda Houston reading the weather for the time being.
On the subject of former Anglia TV presenters, I spotted this on e-bay the other day http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stephen-Le...item19d1b42841

4.99, they cannot be serious, can they ?

Not sure whether you mean too expensive or too cheap, OR who the hell wants to buy that?

(I'd forgotten about him..........ummm, let me see now 4.99 - if I put an overbid of 50+ that should secure it for me)

Stop listening to my ramblings you naughty person!

When i was a child i visited a factory (which no longer exists) with the school in my home town of Aylsham, Norfolk, and Anglia TV were there to film the visit, the short clip (which was shown on Anglia News) will be somewhere in the Anglia TV Archives.

Gotcha! I am in there as well (I had visions of you being given carte blance to rummage around their archive for a minute! ) - I did a "Bygones" in the mid 70s at the Norwich studios with Dick Joice and (in B&W!!) Look East came a filmed me at the cottage I was living in at the time - the interviewer (forgotten his name now) went on to be Exec. Producer of the Antiques Road Show and in the early 90s I met him again (he remembered me!! Which was amazing) when I was on that show with Christopher Payne.

And he was even more pleasant in the flesh - very, very nice man. There was me, a chap who was a gun collector and two sisters who used to play the piano in the silent cinema days, and we all (including my wife) had a lovely lunch a Anglia TV; then my wife sat in the gallery with the control crew to watch it being recorded.

I seem to remember hearing about the two sisters who used to play the piano in the silent cinema days, maybe i saw them on an episode of the series Anglia At 40 (1999).

Ummm, here we go again - their names are on the tip of my tongue......it was an usual surname.........oh dear.

You wait, I'll be driving home in about 20 minutes and it'll pop into my head, I won't have anything to write it down on and forget it again!!

Speaking of Roy Hudd as you were (he lives in Suffolk of course) as the presenter of Anglia TV at 40, I've got somewhere (I think!) a prog. he did for Bygones on Max Miller...............but I maybe getting mixed up there with two progs.!!

Ah, the joys of getting old.........................
